The Washington County Free Library invites you to our Summer Film Series, "Memoirs On-Screen". Each week throughout the summer, we'll be showing a different film based on a popular memoir. Reading the book is encouraged, but not required!
This week's film is "Boy Erased" starring Lucas Hedges and Nicole Kidman, based on the memoir by Garrard Conley. After being forcibly outed to his parents, the son of a Baptist minister is forced to participate in a church-supported gay conversion therapy program. While there, he comes into conflict with its leader and begins his journey to finding his own voice and accepting his true self.
This film is rated R for sexual content, including an assault, some language, and brief drug use. Registration is not required. Water and light refreshments will be provided.
