Program Description

Event Details

The Washington County Free Library invites you to our Summer Film Series, "Memoirs On-Screen". Each week throughout the summer, we'll be showing a different film based on a popular memoir. Reading the book is encouraged, but not required!

This week's film is "My Week with Marilyn", starring Michelle Williams and Eddie Redmayne, based on the memoir by Colin Clark. In 1956, Colin - a young assistant to Sir Laurence Olivier - is assigned to supervise Marilyn Monroe when she arrives in London to film "The Prince and the Showgirl". While Marilyn's insecurities and erratic behavior exasperate everyone else on set, Colin instead feels sorry for her, and the two develop a rapport.

This film is rated R for language. Registration is not required. Water and light refreshments will be provided.
