Event Details

The Washington County Free Library invites you to our brand-new Fletcher Film Series! Each month's films will be based around a different theme. In honor of the Halloween season, October's theme is "Spooky Screens", where we'll be showing some classic horror films. Stop on by the Fletcher branch for some spooky fun!

Note: The films in this series are intended for older teens and adults. Water and light refreshments will be served.

This week's film is the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock classic "Psycho", based on the book by Robert Bloch. Phoenix secretary Marion Crane, on the lam after stealing $40,000 from her employer, is overcome with exhaustion during a heavy rainstorm. Traveling on the backroads to avoid the police, she stops for the night at the ramshackle Bates Motel, where she meets the polite but high-strung proprietor Norman Bates, a young man with an interest in taxidermy and a difficult relationship with his domineering mother.

Starring: Janet Leigh, Anthony Perkins, and Vera Miles

Rated R for mild sensuality, violence, and disturbing scenes

Run Time: 109 minutes
