Event Details

The Washington County Free Library invites you to our brand-new Fletcher Film Series! Each month's films will be based around a different theme. In honor of the Halloween season, October's theme is "Spooky Screens", where we'll be showing some classic horror films. Stop on by the Fletcher branch for some spooky fun!

Note: The films in this series are intended for older teens and adults. Water and light refreshments will be served.

This week's film is the 1931 classic "Dracula", based on the novel by Bram Stoker. The dashing, mysterious Count Dracula, after hypnotizing a British lawyer, Renfield, into his mindless slave, travels from Transylvania and takes up residence in an old castle in London. He soon begins to wreak havoc, setting his sights on Mina, the daughter of a prominent doctor. It's up to Professor Van Helsing -- a vampire-hunter who knows exactly what Dracula is -- to stop the spread of the count's evil.

Starring: Bela Lugosi, Dwight Frye, Helen Chandler, and Edward Van Sloan
