Program Description

Event Details

The Washington County Free Library invites you to our brand-new Fletcher Film Series! Each month's films will be based around a different theme. In honor of the Halloween season, October's theme is "Spooky Screens", where we'll be showing some classic horror films. Stop on by the Fletcher branch for some spooky fun!

Note: The films in this series are intended for older teens and adults. Water and light refreshments will be served.

This week's film is the 1982 classic "Poltergeist". Strange and creepy happening beset the Freeling family -- Steve, Diane, and their three children -- when ghosts begin to commune with them through a dead channel in the television. Initially friendly and playful, the spirits soon turn menacing, and when their youngest daughter Carol Anne goes missing, Steve and Diane turn to a team of parapsychologists and an exorcist for help.

Starring: JoBeth Williams, Craig T. Nelson, and Beatrice Straight

Rated PG for language, frightening scenes and images, and some drug use

Run Time: 114 minutes
