Program Description

Event Details

The Washington County Free Library invites you to our brand-new Fletcher Film Series! Each month's films will be based around a different theme. In honor of the new school year, September's theme is "Back To School", where we'll be showing some of your favorite high-school movies from the 80s and 90s. Come join us at the Fletcher branch for films, food, and nostalgia!

Note: The films in this series are intended for older teens and adults. Water and light refreshments will be served.

This week's film is "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", a 1986 John Hughes classic. High school senior Ferris Bueller has an uncanny knack for cutting class and getting away with it. Intending to make one last duck-out before graduation, he calls in sick, "borrows" a Ferrari, and embarks on an epic one-day journey through the streets of Chicago with his girlfriend Sloane and best friend Cameron. On his trail, however, are his high school principal Mr. Rooney and older sister Jeanie, both determined to catch Ferris in the act.

Starring: Matthew Broderick, Mia Sara, and Alan Ruck

Rated PG-13 for language and adult situations
