The Washington County Free Library invites you to the Fletcher Film Series, where each month, we show you films based around a different theme. January's theme is "Let It Snow". Brrrrrr! It's cold outside! Stop in the library and stay warm as you enjoy these winter movies!

Note: The film series is intended for older teens and adults. Children under the age of 17 should be accompanied by an adult.

We kick off the month with the Coen Brothers' classic 1996 black comedy, "Fargo". Jerry Lundegaard is a car salesman in Minneapolis who has gotten himself into debt and is so desperate for money that he hires two thugs to kidnap his wife so that he can collect the ransom from her wealthy father. However, things don't go according to plan, and three people wind up dead. Now it's up to the 7-months-pregnant Sheriff Marge Gunderson to unravel the threads and solve the case.

Starring: Frances McDormand, William H. Macy, and Steve Buscemi

Run Time: 1 hour and 38 minutes

Rated R for strong violence, language, and some sexual content
