Program Description

Event Details

The Washington County Free Library invites you to the Fletcher Film Series, where each month, we show you films based around a different theme. February's theme is "Heart Breakers". Tired of flowers and candy hearts? Sick of Cupid? Then you'll love our selection of "anti" Valentine's Day films!

Note: The film series is intended for older teens and adults. Children under the age of 17 should be accompanied by an adult.

Our second film in the month of February is David Fincher's examination of a toxic marriage, "Gone Girl", based on the novel by Gillian Flynn. In Carthage, Missouri, former New York-based writer Nick Dunne and his glamorous wife Amy present a portrait of a blissful marriage to the public. However, when Amy goes missing on the couple's fifth wedding anniversary, Nick becomes the prime suspect in her disappearance. The resulting police pressure and media frenzy causes the Dunne's image of a happy union to crumble, leading to tantalizing questions about who Nick and Amy really are.

Starring: Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, and Neil Patrick Harris

Run Time: 2 hours and 29 minutes

Rated R for a scene of bloody violence, some strong sexual content/nudity, and language
