Program Description

Event Details

The Washington County Free Library invites you to the Fletcher Film Series, where each month's films are based around a different theme. December's theme is "Tis The Season". Love the holiday season, but tired of "It's A Wonderful Life"? Join us for something different as we share our selection of alternative "Christmas" films!

Note: The film series is intended for older teens and adults. Children under the age of 17 should be accompanied by an adult.

This week's film is the 1988 comedy "Scrooged". In this modern take on Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol", Frank Cross is a wildly successful television executive whose cold ambition has driven away the love of his life. But after firing a staff member on Christmas Eve, Frank is visited by a series of ghosts who give him a chance to re-evaluate his actions and right the wrongs of the past.

Starring: Bill Murray, Karen Allen, Bob Goldthwait, and John Forsythe

Rated PG-13 for language, crude humor, and violence played for laughs

Run Time: 1 hour and 41 minutes
