Washington County Free Library welcomes you to the Fletcher Film Series. Each month, we bring you films based around a central theme. Raise your glass and say "Sláinte!" as we celebrate Irish-American heritage with these films.

Note: The film series is intended for older teens and adults. Children under the age of 17 should be accompanied by an adult.

No registration required. Water and popcorn will be served.

Our second film this month is the 1992 thriller "The Crying Game". An unlikely kind of friendship develops between Fergus, an Irish Republican Army volunteer, and Jody, a kidnapped British soldier lured into an IRA trap. When the hostage-taking ends up going horribly wrong, Fergus escapes and heads to London, where he seeks out Jody's lover, a hairdresser named Dil.. Fergus adopts the name "Jimmy", keeps his head down, and  starts seeing Dil. But Dil has her own secrets, and when Fergus' IRA past catches up with him, it puts both of them in danger.
