Washington County Free Library welcomes you to the Fletcher Film Series. Each month, we bring you films based around a central theme. To kick off the new year, we'll be going "Back in Time" with these time travel films.

Note: The film series is intended for older teens and adults. Children under the age of 17 should be accompanied by an adult. 

No registration required. Water and popcorn will be served.

Our second film this month is the 2016 sci-fi drama "Arrival", based on a short story by Ted Chiang. When gigantic spaceships touch down in 12 locations around the world, linguistics professor Louise Banks leads an elite team of investigators to find a way to communicate with the extraterrestrial visitors. Hoping to unravel the mystery and racing against time as nations teeter on the verge of global war, Louise takes a chance that could threaten her life and possibly all mankind. 

Starring: Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Forrest Whittaker

Run Time: 1 hour and 56 minutes

Rated PG-13 for brief strong language and some intense scenes
