Event Details

Washington County Free Library welcomes you to the Fletcher Film Series. Each month, we bring you films based around a central theme. This month, "Saddle Up!" and ride the range with these thrilling Western films!

Note: The film series is intended for older teens and adults. Children under the age of 17 should be accompanied by an adult.

No registration required. Water and popcorn will be served.

Our first film this month is the 1969 comedic action film "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", loosely based on the real-life outlaws. In 1890s Wyoming, Butch and Sundance are the affable leaders of the Hole-in-the-Wall Gang, known for robbing banks and trains. However, the once-lawless West is becoming civilized, and after the gang robs one train too many, its two leaders find themselves pursued by a special posse that seems to find them no matter where they run to. Running out of options, the pair flee to Bolivia to continue their lawless streak, but in doing so, they will learn just how far they will have to go to preserve their outlaw way of life.

Starring: Paul Newman, Robert Redford, and Katherine Ross

Run Time: 1 hour and 50 minutes

Rated PG, but contains some language, violence throughout, and semi-nudity
