Washington County Free Library welcomes you to the Fletcher Film Series. Each month, we bring you films based around a central theme. October's fare is "Trick or Treat", with horror movies to start off the spooky season.

Note: The film series is intended for older teens and adults. Children under the age of 17 should be accompanied by an adult.

No registration required. Water and light refreshments will be served.

Our final film of the series is the 1980 classic "The Shining", based on the novel by Stephen King. Jack Torrance becomes winter caretaker at the isolated Overlook Hotel in Colorado, hoping to cure his writer's block. He settles in along with his wife Wendy, and son Danny , who is plagued by psychic premonitions. As Jack's writing goes nowhere and Danny's visions become more disturbing, Jack discovers the hotel's dark secrets and begins to unravel into a homicidal maniac hell-bent on terrorizing his family.

Starring: Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duval, and Danny Lloyd

Run Time: 2 hours and 26 minutes
