Washington County Free Library welcomes you to the Fletcher Film Series. Each month, we bring you films based around a central theme. January is "Dear Sir", in honor of National Letter-Writing Week, which runs January 8-14.

Note: The film series is intended for older teens and adults. Children under the age of 17 should be accompanied by an adult.

No registration required. Water and light refreshments will be served.

Our second film this month is Wes Anderson's 2012 comedy, "Moonrise Kingdom". The year is 1965, and life is fairly idyllic for the residents of New Penzance, an island off the coast of New England. 12-year-olds Sam and Suzy - both unhappy in their respective lives - fall in love and decide to run away. But a violent storm is approaching the island, forcing a band of quirky adults to mobilize a search party and find them.

Starring: Jared Gilman, Kara Hayward, Bruce Willis, and Frances McDormand

Run Time: 1 hour and 34 minutes

Rated PG-13 for sexual content and smoking
