Program Description

Event Details

Washington County Free Library welcomes you to the Fletcher Film Series. Each month, we bring you films based around a central theme. August is "Doggone It!" in honor of the "dog days" of summer.

Note: The film series is intended for older teens and adults. Children under the age of 17 should be accompanied by an adult.

No registration required. Water and light refreshments will be served.

Our first film this month is the 2018 Wes Anderson animated film, "Isle of Dogs". When, by executive decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, 12-year-old Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.

Starring: Koyn Rankin, Bryan Cranston, and Edward Norton

Run Time: 1 hour and 41 minutes

Rated PG-13 for thematic elements and some violent images
