The Fletcher Branch of the Washington County Free Library will be closed on Sunday, April 5, 2026 in observance of the Easter holiday. All locations will open at their regular times on Monday, April 6th.
All locations of the Washington County Free Library will be closed for Spring Break on Friday, April 3, 2026. We will re-open for normal hours on Saturday, April 4th.

The Children's Department is collecting valentines for participants in the Meals on Wheels program until February 5, 2024. We are asking you to help make the day a little brighter for those who are feeling isolated at home.
Join Miss Yen for a fun Themed Family Storytime with stories and songs.
Join us for Kids Discover STEM as we create glow in the dark recycled soda bottle fireflies on February 3rd from 11am-12pm. Storytime and instruction begin promptly at 11am, but the room is open to complete activities until 12pm.
Join us in the children's room for books, song, flannelgraph stories and more. This story time is for all ages.
Come and get creative at the Hancock Library! Make a "Gumball Machine" candy jar that will make a great Valentine gift! These crafts are for ages 5 to adult and are in-house only. They will not be sent out as “take-and-make" kits.
Meet Gimli, a lovable cat who is waiting to read with you. Gimli doesn't worry about how well you read, just that you are there with him, share a story, and that you are gentle! Gimli will visit the Children's Department from 1:00-2:00
Family Movie Matinee is back! Come join us on the 1st Saturday of the month for popcorn and a movie at 2 p.m. in the Community Room located on the 3rd floor of the WCFL Hagerstown Branch!
