Program Description

Event Details

The Friends of Tolson's Chapel have produced a living history film to provide insights into the life of Christina Watson (Teeny), an enslaved woman who worked in a Sharpsburg tavern and also experienced the terror of the Battle of Antietam. The home her husband, Hillary Watson, built still stands on High St. in Sharpsburg today. The screening on Mon., April 7, at the Washington County Free Library's Fletcher Branch in Hagerstown, will be followed by a panel discussion featuring three of the women involved in the film: Dr. Emilie Amt, Bridgett Jones-Smith, and ZSun-Nee Miller Matama.
