Event Details
Explore the fashions of the late 18th century and what they reveal about daily life during the Revolutionary era in the Americas. We will look at both men’s and women’s clothing, focusing on silhouettes, garment shapes, fabrics, patterns, and construction techniques. Participants will learn how clothing reflects social class, occupation, gender roles, and cultural values of the time. This program will include a hands-on display of reproduction garments and accessories from the collection at the Conococheague Institute.
