Event Details
Come to our new film discussion program! We'll be discussing a different film each month, how they got made, and what makes them historically or culturally significant.
Our film this month is the 2013 apocalyptic thriller "Snowpiercer", directed by Bong Joon-ho. We will discuss the themes of the month, its graphic novel origins, and how it works as both action film and commentary.
The film is available for checkout with your Washington County Free Library card. Attendees are expected to view the film prior to the program; a brief synopsis will be provided.
While it is not required, attendees are encouraged to watch a 35-minute video from a lecture series about science fiction and philosophy, entitled "Snowpiercer and Climate Change", available with your library card on Kanopy.
