Join us for our second Longest Table event! Share a meal and conversation with someone you don’t know*, exchange stories about life in Washington County, and discover both common ground and new ideas. The dialogue starts when you come to the table. The Longest Table will be held in the 100 block of South Potomac Street in front of the Fletcher Branch Library. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN MOVED INSIDE THE LIBRARY.
This event is also a celebration of the Choose Civility Washington County initiative! Long Table community conversations have been hosted throughout the county this past year. We've been collecting information based on those conversations to share with the community so we can see what issues we hold near and dear, ideas for taking steps toward a brighter future, and what organizations we trust to take such steps.
Volunteers needed! Interested in being a Table Host? We will provide conversation starters and an orientation. The goal is to provide each table with a Table Host who will keep guests actively engaged in conversation throughout the evening.
THIS IS A FREE EVENT! Registration is appreciated, but not required. On the day of the event, seats will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. High school aged and over, please.
*To enhance the experience of getting to know different people, guests will not be seated with their companions.
