Program Description

Event Details

After the American Revolution, our region of Western Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania helped shape several religious faiths in America.  One of these faiths was that of the "German Methodists". Chris Grahl's lecture will draw from sources such as the Rev. Samuel Huber's 1858 autobiography, a German Methodist "revival" preacher who travelled throughout the Tri-State area. Grahl is the author of the series "The Forgotten Stories of the Second Great Awakening" and the first book, about Rev. Huber, was published in October 2021. Join us for this lecture brought to us by the Smithsburg Historical Society. Please register online.
