Event Details
Drawing from her own family lore and family history, Fanny Crawford will present an evening of storytelling on Tuesday, September 21 at the Smithsburg Library. Sponsored by the Smithsburg Historical Society, the storytelling will begin at 7:00 PM. Fanny Crawford is a locally-based professional storyteller who has performed throughout the region at historical societies and storytelling festivals. Her repertoire of stories includes historical narratives, folk tales, and tales from her own family's history, such as that of her own great-great grandfather, born enslaved, but who fled Hagerstown for freedom in 1835. The event is free to the public.
