Event Details
Formed in World War 1, the 29th Infantry Division is renowned for valor and sacrifice on D-Day's infamous Omaha Beach during World War Two. The soldiers of the 29th came from Maryland, Virginia, and other communities that had, just a couple generations earlier, sent soldiers to opposing armies during the Civil War; this heritage won them the name, "The Blue and Gray Division."
Join historian John Schildt for a lively and informative discussion of the local units who served in the 29th.
