Storyteller Fanny Crawford will be here in the library Community Room to tell an eclectic blend of new and tradition, light and dark, warm and cool, dog and cat, round and square.... etc.
Fanny Crawford spent her childhood absorbing family stories, cultural history and cross-cultural perspectives from an extended circle of loquacious urban, rural and multi-lingual relatives and friends. Since retiring seven years ago from a 50 year career focused on children, health and education, she's parleyed her passion for storytelling into a repertoire of historical narratives, world folk tales, original stories and tall tales. Recent venues include regional historical associations, story festivals, house concerts, libraries, day care centers, summer camps and Garrett Lakes Mountain Chatauqua where she portrayed her great-grandfather, T.H. Barnes, sharing stories from his 100 page autobiographical manuscript beginning with the words of his own father who excaped enslavement in Hagerstown MD, circa 1835.
