McCauley Lecture: Historic Schoolhouses of Washington County

In his presentation, Henry Recker, a freshman at Smithsburg High School, will share tales of old local schoolhouses, whether abandoned, demolished, long-forgotten, or brought back to a new life. Henry has been studying Washington County schoolhouses for four years and in that time has visited more than 100 local one-room schoolhouse sites in his tireless effort to collect stories and to document their fascinating history.
