Program Description

Event Details

In honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, the Smithsburg Library will host a "Loving in Loss" storytime.  With the guiding hand of Maria Reed, Hospice counselor and grief educator, Miss Laura has found a selection of gentle books that validate the complex emotions surrounding loss.  This program is intended for ANYONE at any age who lost a baby close to them, whether recently or long ago.  The books will range in simplicity and are appropriate for young and old alike.  Afterwards everyone is invited to create a memorial rock for their loved one, connect with others, and browse community resources represented by grief professionals at Hospice, Labor of Love, Hope through Birth and other organizations.

This storytime should not be considered a substitute for mental health services.

Registration is not required, however if you wish to have an e-mail reminder sign up below!
