This lecture is a fun look at old sayings, expressions, words, and pronunciations of words that are part of our local way of speaking, which was shaped by the early Scotch-Irish and Pennsylvania Dutch settlers, and the result is an interesting mix of words and sayings that give our local dialect a unique identity.  Presented by Smithsburg Historical Society president Jefferson Boyer.  Call to sign up or sign up online.
