This is a continuation of the lecture from Spring 2024 on the same subject.  Learn about what language experts call "localisms" - ways of speaking that are peculiar to the Smithsburg region.  This lecture will be part interactive, and will use lists of words and phrases collected by local English teachers decades ago to see if the audience know the meanings of the words today and has heard them in use.  Presented by Jefferson Boyer, Smithsburg Historical Society president.  Please sign up online.
