This event has been cancelled due to a family emergency of the speaker.

Ancestry.com is a great research tool for genealogy research but there are hundreds of other online sources that you can use to research your family tree.  In this course, we will talk about Ancestry's affiliate sites (Fold3, Newspapers.com and Find-A-Grave), FamilySearch, MyHeritage, locality websites and talk about how to find living members of your family.  This class will be in lecture format but participants are encouraged to bring their laptops so they can follow along with their own research. Sign up online or call to sign up.

Susan Fabian started researching her family tree in 1992 and has never stopped.  She has been a member of Ancestry.com for 19 years and is now a beta tester for their site.  In 2016 she submitted her DNA to Ancestry.com and learned so much about genetic genealogy that she started helping others figure out their biological connections and build their family trees.

Susan volunteers for Search Angels, a non-profit organization that pairs experienced genealogists with adoptees and those of uncertain parentage and since joining last fall has helped 11 people find their biological families.  She also volunteers for From the Page, a genealogy document transcription website and is a volunteer contributor to Find-A-Grave enumerating and photographing local cemeteries and gravestones.
