Event Details
100 years ago, a colorful lady with a checkered past moved into the Jugtown/Pondsville area, and started to raise a ruckus there. Arrested dozens of times for drunken hijinks, the press loved to chronicle her misadventures in and out of the county jail. This lecture looks not only into her life, but into the Prohibition Era happenings in the Pondsville/Jugtown community, including moonshiners, chicken stealing, and more. Presented by Jefferson Boyer, Smithsburg Historical Society President. Please call to sign up or sign up online.
